Licensing and activation
Fox Git is commercially licensed as a subscription. The license only covers the software itself: the number of repositories, remotes, and operations is never metered.
Developer preview
Fox Git is in developer preview, and the in-app license entry will ship with the public release. What follows describes the purchase and license service rules.
Get a license key
- On the pricing page, choose monthly or yearly billing and pay through the Waffo checkout — no account needed.
- After payment, return to the result page, wait for payment confirmation, and claim your license key. Test payments do not issue production keys.
- Keep your key safe and do not share the claim link. The claim receipt is valid for 24 hours from checkout creation; if you lose the key, contact support with your order number.
Monthly and yearly are billing cycles of the same plan. Renewals extend the same license, keeping the key and device allowance. Changing or retiring a plan never overrides what you already bought.
Claim window and license validity
The 24 hours only limit claiming and copying the key on the result page — they are not an activation deadline. Once claimed, you can activate any time while the license is valid. An expired claim link, or the server removing the encrypted pending key, does not invalidate a key you already claimed.
License validity starts when payment is confirmed, not at first activation; activating later does not extend the expiry. The exact expiry is shown on the result page and in license lookup.
Activate a device
Enter the full license key in the app (spaces are removed automatically) to activate. Activation sends an irreversible device digest, the device name, and the platform to count your device allowance; it never sends repository contents, Git credentials, or files.
Device allowance and changing devices
Devices are bound within your plan's allowance. Re-activating or reinstalling the app does not count twice, and renewals do not free slots.
Enter your key on the license lookup page to see activated devices; when your license allows transfers, you can deactivate old devices there to free a slot. For licenses whose devices cannot be transferred by yourself, contact support for hardware failures or device changes. Deactivation or expiry never deletes your repositories or local files.
Offline use
Each successful online check returns a digitally signed lease. While the lease is valid (and never beyond the license's own expiry), you can keep working without reaching the license service. Once it expires, an online check is needed again.
If the system clock appears to have been turned back significantly, the app asks for an online re-check. Set your clock to sync automatically and try again.
