Terms of Service and End User License Agreement
Version 1.0 · Updated October 23, 2026
1. Scope and acceptance
Fox Git is operated by Yi Ruiwen as an individual based in mainland China. In these terms, "we" means the operator Yi Ruiwen, and "Fox Git" is the product name. The service, billing, and privacy contact is [email protected].
These terms cover the Fox Git desktop app, website, and commercial license service offered through foxgit.ai. Fox Git is Git client software for developers; it does not host your code and is not a Git hosting platform.
Before buying or using it, read these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not buy or use it. You must have the legal capacity to enter a contract; when using it for a company or team, you must be authorized to do so. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law are not limited by these terms.
2. Service and eligibility
The software provides repository management, changes and commits, the history graph, file view and blame, conflict resolution, remote sync, and related features, as described in About and the docs. It relies on Git installed on your device; accounts, permissions, and fees for Git hosting platforms are your responsibility. Features may change during the developer preview.
The app needs no Fox Git account. Provide a real, reachable billing email when purchasing, and keep your order number, license key, and result-page claim link safe. Contact support promptly if credentials leak or you notice unauthorized use.
3. License, devices, and validity
During the license period, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the software. Purchasing a license does not transfer intellectual property in the software; third-party components remain under their own licenses. Rights in your code, repositories, and content remain with you or the respective rights holders.
- Plan period, device allowance, trial, and feature entitlements follow the plan and order at the time of purchase; later plan changes do not alter what you bought.
- License keys must not be published, resold, or shared beyond the license scope.
- Activation and checks process a device digest, device name, and platform, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- The software periodically checks the license online; offline availability follows the most recently issued license lease.
- After expiry, a refund, or deactivation, license-protected features may become unavailable; your repositories and local files are not deleted.
4. Pricing, payment, and digital delivery
The pricing page shows the plans, currencies, monthly or yearly prices, and whether they auto-renew. Yearly savings compare the yearly price with twelve monthly payments and are not an extra discount. The final amount, taxes, and payment methods are confirmed on the checkout page before payment.
Payments are processed by the Waffo Pancake checkout. Fox Git never receives or stores full card numbers or security codes. The payment service's own terms, receipts, and privacy notice also apply to the transactions it processes.
This product is a digital software license with no physical delivery. After the server confirms a production payment, the license is usually delivered on the result page, where you can view the plan and copy the key; a page redirect alone is not payment confirmation. The claim receipt is valid for 24 hours after checkout creation, so claim and store the key promptly after paying. If the window passes or you did not receive a license, contact support with your order number — do not pay again or send your full key.
The claim window is not an activation deadline. The 24 hours only limit claiming and copying the key on the result page; once claimed, you can activate any time during the license period. License validity starts when payment is confirmed, not at first activation, and activating later does not extend the expiry.
Test-environment orders only verify the payment flow and never issue activatable production licenses.
5. One-time purchases, auto-renewal, and cancellation
- One-time purchase: only the confirmed amount is charged; monthly or yearly indicates the license period, with no automatic charge at expiry.
- Auto-renewing subscription: applies only to plans clearly marked as auto-renewing on the pricing and checkout pages. Confirming a subscription authorizes the displayed fee each cycle until you cancel.
- Cancellation: if the checkout or transaction notices offer subscription management, you can cancel there; you can also contact [email protected] with your order number. Request before the next charge and keep the cancellation confirmation. Uninstalling the app or deactivating devices does not cancel a subscription.
- Effect of cancellation: future renewals stop and the license stays valid for the paid period; cancellation itself does not trigger a refund, which follows the policy below.
- Trials: an in-app trial never creates a paid order just by expiring; purchases and charges require separate confirmation.
If the price or billing terms of an existing subscription change, we will tell you through the purchase email or subscription management channel before the change applies, and ask for your confirmation where re-authorization is required.
6. Refunds and billing issues
You can request a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase or initial subscription, without giving a reason. A renewal is also fully refundable if you ask within 14 days and have not used the new period. For duplicate charges, non-delivery, or wrong amounts, provide your order number so we can check. See the Refund Policy for the full rules.
Approved refunds go back through the original payment method; timing depends on the payment channel and card issuer. After a full refund the license is deactivated, while local files are unaffected. You can contact support about billing; this does not limit your right to seek remedies through payment institutions, consumer protection agencies, or courts.
7. Acceptable use
You must have lawful permission for the repositories and remotes you operate on, and follow the agreements of the hosting platforms involved. Do not use the software for fraud, distributing malware, infringing intellectual property or privacy, or interfering with the security of third-party platforms.
Do not bypass or tamper with license checks, misuse credentials, resell licenses without permission, or attack the service. Restrictions on reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Git, third-party platforms, and optional AI features
Fox Git runs the Git on your device. Operations such as reset, force push, and discarding changes can lose data; the software warns you before running them, but please check the target branch and content yourself before confirming, and keep backups where needed.
The AI assistant uses the model service and API key you configure. Content is sent to that provider only when you actively send a message; its fees, data handling, and availability are governed by the provider's terms. AI suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete and do not replace your own review.
9. Data, security, and backups
The software is local first, and your repositories and files stay on your device; data flows for the optional AI features and license checks are described in the Privacy Policy. Protect your devices, accounts, and keys, and back up important repositories yourself.
10. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update the software for maintenance, security, or compatibility. Significant service changes will be announced on the website or through available contact channels. In cases of serious breach, fraud, or legal requirement, we may suspend the related license; you can contact support to object.
If we permanently stop a prepaid service for reasons on our side and cannot continue, we will refund the unperformed part or handle it as required by law. You can stop using the software at any time; stopping does not automatically cancel renewal.
11. Liability and disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided with its existing features and without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for indirect losses where the law allows such limits; where cumulative liability can be lawfully limited, it is capped at the fees you actually paid for the software in the 12 months before the dispute. These limits do not exclude liability for intent, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Disputes should first be raised through the support email; if they cannot be resolved, they will be settled by a competent authority under applicable law. These terms do not remove mandatory protections granted by the law of the consumer's place of residence.
12. Updates and contact
We record the update date on this page. Significant changes to pricing, license entitlements, or personal information handling will be explained through a website notice or available contact channels, and changes requiring consent will ask for it separately.
For service, billing, cancellation, refund, security, and privacy questions, contact [email protected]. Include your order number and a description, and never send card security codes, Git credentials, or your full license key.
